The RECaP research unit was established in September 2023 to promote evidence-based research and debate related to crime prevention and practice. The unit consists of an interdisciplinary network combining psychological, criminological, sociological and organisational perspectives.

The purpose of the unit is:

  • To bring together researchers, practitioners and students dedicated to applying an evidence-based approach to the prevention, investigation and punishment of crime
  • To create opportunities for informed dialogue, debate and dissemination of the best evidence through lectures, workshops and training
  • To strengthen existing research activities and develop new collaborations and knowledge within the fields of forensic psychology and criminology.
