Researchers are expected to reliably produce and share knowledge for and with the general public, in return for their trust and (financial) support. However, scientists do not always fulfill this "social contract" - ranging from low replicability to simply inaccessible research. In this talk, I will present recent findings on this topic and talk about how open science practices can improve scientists' fulfillment to the "social contract".
