Malene Hoffmann Buskbjerg is a PhD fellow at the Unit for Bereavement Research, Aarhus University. In her PhD project, she investigates how young children aged 3–8 experience and respond to loss and grief within a family context. A central focus of Malene’s project is to more actively include young children’s own perspectives in grief research, and to do so on their own terms. The overall aim is to generate greater knowledge about young children’s grief reactions and the role of the family in the grieving process, as well as to contribute to the development of better support for children and families experiencing loss.
