Madeline Marie Marello

Ph.D. Fellow

Madeline Marie Marello is a PhD fellow at the Research Unit for Grief, Aarhus University. Her research lies at the intersection of psychology and epidemiology, with a focus on bereavement and mental health outcomes. She has a special interest in prolonged grief disorder, health inequality, and methodological challenges such as nonresponse- and selection-bias in bereavement research. Madeline's work combines subjective self-report data with Danish register data to examine the psychological, social, and health consequences of grief. Her primary research aim is to bridge population-based evidence with clinical perspectives to improve identification and support for individuals who are at greater risk of adverse grief trajectories.
