Alexander Castro-Pavlik is a PhD student at the Unit for Bereavement Research, Aarhus University. His research focuses on grief and sleep, including how sleep disturbances develop over time among bereaved individuals and which factors predict sleep problems after a loss. In addition, he investigates the interaction between grief processes and sleep disturbances, as well as the potential for treating sleep problems through non-pharmacological interventions for people experiencing grief.
His work includes both randomized clinical trials and longitudinal cohort studies that follow large groups of bereaved individuals over time. He also has practical experience with psychotherapeutic sleep treatment and is strongly committed to ensuring that his research is applicable in clinical practice.
