Getting to Denmark is quite easy. Denmark is a peninsula in Northern Europe, which means you can go by car, bus or train from European countries or ferrys from other Scandinavian countries.

By car or bus
Aarhus is close to the E45 motorway which runs through Germany to Denmark so it is very easily accessible by car.

Various bus companies travel between European countries and Germany to Aarhus. One is Linie 888, which travels from Berlin, Hamburg and Flensburg directly to Aarhus. Rødbillet is another option traveling from Berlin to Aarhus at cheap prices. Several other connections can be found at eurolines.com.

By train
There are several train connections from various parts of Europe to Aarhus and often it is possible to find cheap connections from Germany to Aarhus.

By plane
There are flights from several destinations throughout the world to two airports very close to Aarhus. From both Billund and Aarhus Airport there are airport buses to Aarhus. If you arrive in Copenhagen Airport – the largest in Scandinavia – you can fly on to Aarhus Airport or you can travel by train or bus. It  is also possible to fly to Hamburg and take the train or bus to Aarhus.

Aarhus Airport
Situated less than a 40 minutes’ drive north east of Aarhus, Aarhus Airport has 10 daily flights to and from Copenhagen Airport. The air service is primarily operated by SAS and takes 35 minutes. Current direct destinations from Aarhus Airport are: Oslo, Stockholm, Gdansk, Girona, Gothenburg, London, Manchester and Málaga. 5 airlines are operating from Aarhus Airport: SAS, British Airways, Ryanair, Finnair and Eurolot.  aar.dk

Billund Airport
Billund Airport is the second largest airport in Denmark with direct international services from 26 major destinations in Europe. Copenhagen Airport
Copenhagen Airport is Scandinavia’s main airport, i.e. the transfer airport for air traffic between other parts of the world and the many national and regional airports in Scandinavia and the area south of the Baltic Sea. From the airport you can go directly to Aarhus city centre by train or bus. cph.dk

Hamburg Airport
Hamburg airport is the 5th largest in Germany. It is easy to go directly from Hamburg Airport to Aarhus either by train or bus. Hamburg Airport has connecting flights from all over the world. hamburg-airport.de
