Data storage and processing

The processing of your personal data will be processed in accordance with the research authority. We therefore do not need to obtain written consent from you if you have contacted us and expressed your interest in participating in the project.

All data included in the project will be processed and stored in compliance with both the Danish Data Protection Act and the Danish data protection agency by responsible investigators as well as project workers.

It is voluntary if you want to participate, just as you can step out of the project at any time and without giving a reason. You can do this by sending us an email or calling us. The contact information can be found on the back of this information folder.

Project funding
The project is carried out on the initiative of the Unit for Bereavement Research at the Department of Psychology at Aarhus University and in collaboration with the National Grief Center. The project is supported by TrygFonden with DKK 904,645 which, i.a., finances salaries for the project employees.

The purpose and legal basis for the processing of your personal data
The purpose of processing personal data is for the purpose of research in grief reactions.

Aarhus BSS' right to process your personal data follows from the General Data Protection Regulation Art. 6 subsection. 1, subparagraph e) and the Danish Data Protection Act § 10, para. 1, which gives Aarhus University the right to process your sensitive personal data for scientific research purposes without your consent.

Recipients of the personal data
The National Archives in connection with archiving according to the rules in the Archives Act. Collaboration with other research institutions will take place in accordance with current rules for collaboration and data processor agreement.

Storage of personal data
Data will be deleted or anonymized when there is no longer a need to process it. At this time, we cannot say how long we will keep your personal data. However, we can inform you that we will emphasize that your personal data is only stored for as long as it is necessary for scientific publications, when we have to determine how long your information will be stored.

Your rights as a participant in the research project
Aarhus University processes your data in accordance with the data protection rules. If you wish, you have the option to have data about you deleted or changed until scientific publications are completed and published. Then the data is anonymized. Complaint to the Danish Data Protection Agency
