About our research

CEBU’s research results are published in internationally recognised and peer-reviewed journals scientific journals and in Danish reports. We also communicate our research results in brief summaries in Danish. Read more about CEBU’s research projects and research publications on this page.

CEBU’s research strategy:

1. Developing and testing methods for the prevention and treatment of psychological problems in children and adolescents.

2. Studying who benefits the most from different types of treatment - among other things with a view to developing a so-called ‘stepped-care’ approach to treatment.

3. Examining which treatment mechanisms are the most effective.

4. Developing and testing diagnosis tools such as questionnaires and diagnostic interviews.

Children and adolescents with social anxiety

The effect of generic cognitive behavioral therapy (e.g. the Cool Kids program) is reduced in children and adolescents with social anxiety. We are testing, in collaboration with Centre for Emotional Health, Macquarie University, a treatment program aimed at children and adolescents with social anxiety. The project is funded by Trygfonden.

Online therapy

In a collaboration with Centre for Digital Psychiatry, we have developed a new Internet-based cognitive behavioral intervention, CoolMinds, for adolescents with anxiety disorders. We are currently testing the effectiveness of CoolMinds in a randomized controlled trial. The project is funded by the Region of Southern Denmark and TrygFonden.
