Frequent asked questions (FAQ)

Why do I have to fill out a questionnaire the first time I log on to Sona?

Researchers use the answers to these questions to select participants that match the requirements of different studies. Your answers to these questions will not be visible to other participants. The questionnaire contains less than 10 questions.

My password is not working

If you copy-pasted the password please check that you only copied the password and did not include any spaces or other characters.
If you have typed in the password please check that you have included all characters in the right order. Also, remember to check for capital letters and the difference between “0” (zero), “O” (capital o) and “o” (small letter o).

If you have checked your password according to the above and still remain unable to log on please send us an e-mail.

I forgot my password

On the Sona website you have the option to click on “Forgot Password” in the right upper corner. In order to get a new password you need to type in your user ID or e-mail address. By doing this the system will delete your old password and send a new password to your e-mail address.

If this option does not work for you please send us an e-mail.

I want to cancel my participation in a study that I’ve already signed up for

Go to the Sona website, log on and cancel your participation.

If you are not able to cancel your participation yourself the reason could be that the study begins in less than 24 hours. In this case write an e-mail to the address that was listed in the invitation letter or study description for the study you have signed up for.

I want to participate in a study but it is no longer possible to sign up

Two common reasons for this is that:

  1. Sign-up has closed because enough participants have signed up for the study, that is, there is no need for further participants, or
  2. The time slot you want to sign up for is less than 24 hours away.

If you want to explore the possibility of participating in the study even though it is no longer possible to sign up write an e-mail to the address that was listed in the invitation letter or study description for the study you want to sign up for.

I want to participate in a study but none of these timeslots suit me

As a general rule all available timeslots for a study are listed when the study is added, that is, new time slots will not be added once the study is running.

If you want to explore the possibility of participating in the study even though none of the available time slots suit you please write an e-mail to the address that is listed in the invitation letter or study description for the study you want to sign up for.

How do I find the location where the study takes place?

To find locations at Aarhus University you can use the AU building map.

Some studies take place on campus, while others are online studies that you can participate in from home.

I no longer want to be a participant in the CON AMORE database

If you do not want to participate in studies for a period of time because you are travelling or otherwise busy you can still be in the participant database but not sign up for studies during that period of time – you do not have to sign up for studies to be in the CON AMORE participant database.

If you want to be deleted from the CON AMORE participant database please send us an e-mail – you are not able to delete your own account in Sona.
