My work sits at the intersection of gender, reproductive health, digital media, and urban life, based on long-term ethnographic research in Uganda, South Africa, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands.
I also work with the anthropology of sound and popular music, including projects on youth, well-being, and access to live music, and on music and media production in Uganda.
I lead lead Aarhus University Center for North Atlantic and Arctic Studies together with Janne Flora.
My research is engaged, collaborative, and grounded in long-term ethnography, with a strong interest in how people imagine and negotiate futures under conditions of inequality, uncertainty, and change.
