Kim Mathiasen holds a PhD in e-mental health and is a licensed clinical psychologist. He is Associate Professor at the Department of psychology and Behavioural Sciences, Aarhus University, Denmark and at the Department of Clinical Research, University of Southern Denmark. Since 2006, he has pioneered internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) in Denmark. From 2012 he led the establishment of the first Danish large scale iCBT clinic Internetpsykiatrien, which now has national coverage free of charge for all Danish adults suffering from Depression or anxiety disorders. He served as Head of Research for the Research Unit for Digital Psychiatry, at the University of Southern Denmark. He has contributed to several national and international research projects including large-scale EU projects. Latest as project coordinator of ImpleMentAll (implementall.eu) and task-leader for a pan-European cross-sectional study of vulnerable groups in Europe as part of the ReConnected project. He also serves on the board of directors of the International Society for Research on Internet Interventions and is editor for the scientific journal Internet Interventions. He has contributed to national guidelines for online psychology and anxiety disorders.
