This dissertation aims to increase our understanding of affective mechanisms and health correlates associated with maintenance of cannabis use. It focused on a naturalistic sample of individuals who smoke cannabis daily or near-daily, because this group is at higher risk of cannabis-related harms, yet is underrepresented in research.
This dissertation consists of three empirical manuscripts addressing complementary aspects of the overarching aim to understand the interplay between cannabis use, affective mechanism, and health correlates. By integrating these complementary approaches, the dissertation aims to provide a comprehensive account of how between-person characteristics and within-person processes jointly contribute to the maintenance of cannabis use and the emergence of problematic cannabis use.
Everyone is welcome.
