New Face at the Centre: Karolina Aleksandra Scigala

Karolina Aleksandra Scigala is a new postdoc at the Centre for Integrative Business Psychology

Unethical behaviors such as bribery, corruption, as well as broadly understood dishonesty, constitute a big challenge for individuals as well as societies at large. During my postdoc, I will be working on research projects focusing on situations as well as traits that are related to said unethical behaviors, with a particular emphasis on bribery, corruption, and other kinds of dishonesty. More specifically, I will study the interplay of interaction partners’ characteristics in bribery, as well as the effects of situational factors, such as boredom, on unethical behavior.

I have completed my PhD at the University of Copenhagen. During my PhD, I have been focusing on the relations between personality and complex situations including conflicting moral motivations (e.g., being cooperative vs. being honest), as well as on the relation between creativity and dishonesty/(un)ethical justifications.

In my research, I put a strong emphasis on following Open Science practices.
