Professor Ryff is a leading researcher in well-being and positive health in a eudaimonic approach. She defines and measures psychological well-being as based upon six dimensions: autonomy, environmental mastery, personal growth, positive relations with others, purpose in life, and self-acceptance. Her research in well-being is related to an array of levels from societal to neurological levels and in a life span developmental approach.
